In pairs | Dos Pares de la OEIN

For this edition of RE-MIXING THE STAGE; CIRCULAR LISTENING SESSIONS, the ensemble “Dos pares de la OEIN” proposes a listening experience that interweaves musical examples and conversations around sound organization systems rooted in Andean cultures, such as Arca-Ira, Guaqui, and complementarity. Throughout the session, pieces will be performed that reveal the dialogue between traditional practices and contemporary explorations, accompanied by reflections on the underlying logics of these repertoires: performing in pairs, the relationship between bodies and instruments, the spatiality of sound, and the communal dimension of music. In this way, the space becomes a horizontal gathering where listening, questioning, and collective remembering take place. An opportunity to consider how alternative ways of making music can also reshape the ways we listen.
