"Dos pares de la Orquesta Experimental de Instrumentos Nativos"

“Dos Pares de la OEIN” is an ensemble composed of four performers from the Orquesta Experimental de Instrumentos Nativos de Bolivia (OEIN), created to explore new sonic possibilities based on the orchestra’s repertoire and collective practice. The ensemble emerges as an autonomous proposal, yet remains closely connected to OEIN’s experimental approach, which fosters a dialogue—originating in Bolivia—between Indigenous Andean musical traditions and contemporary creation. Founded in 1980, OEIN is a musical, pedagogical, and cultural project dedicated to the exploration, preservation, and innovation of traditional Andean music and instruments, particularly wind instruments used in ritual and communal contexts. More than a conventional orchestra, it functions as a space for thought and creation that blends ancestral knowledge with contemporary practices such as improvisation, experimental composition, and performance, with a presence on stages across Bolivia, Latin America, and Europe. With a program specially designed for this smaller format, Dos Pares reinterprets traditional repertoires and new compositions through the use of native wind instruments, offering a proposal that combines precision, sensitivity, and creative risk. Their work upholds the investigative and performative spirit of OEIN, bringing to the stage a conscious, embodied, and collective mode of listening where memory, territory, and experimentation converge.
