Discos da Jajá

Helena Fontaine is a musician, hat maker, and record collector whose work bridges France and Brazil, with deep connections to Cabo Verde, the Caribbean Antilles, and early Latin American musical traditions. Since 2017, he has co-led the Berlin transatlantic music project A Panda do Sol. Through her vinyl-only project 'Discos da Jajá', she presents carefully sourced recordings from Brazil, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Haiti, La Réunion, and Cabo Verde—an analog journey through rare creole grooves, island soundscape, and the stories etched into old records.
